A Stanislaus County commission dedicated to veterans' issues will hold a public workshop Saturday to discuss local veterans' facility needs.
The Stanislaus County Veterans Advisory Commission workshop is intended to receive comment from the public on where veterans groups are meeting, and where facilities should be located in the county.
The commission has already conducted a survey on facility needs. The results of that survey will be discussed, then additional comment will be taken on needed services and programs.
The commission ultimately hopes to identify public or private facilities which can be rented to hold veterans meetings in locations where veterans can easily attend. Eventually, the group would like to construct a new facility where veterans can join together and receive services.
The workshop will occur at 1 p.m. Saturday, in the American Legion Hall at 1001 S. Santa Cruz Ave. in Modesto.
