In just over a week, Turlockers have the unique opportunity to spend a night in Tunisia – without leaving city limits.
This year's annual Pitman High School Jazz Band Dinner will treat guests to a “Night in Tunisia” while enjoying a live concert featuring the Pitman High School Jazz Band.
The March 15 event is put on by the Pitman Band Boosters, a non-profit organization that provides the necessities for the Pitman music program such as bus transportation, uniforms, music, fees and instrument repairs.
“We have several fundraising events planned throughout the year, all of which require hours of preparation and most importantly donations from our friends and generous supporters in the community,” said Lori Denego, Pitman High School Band Booster Secretary. “Our annual Jazz Dinner is a crucial fundraiser for us.”
The event will be held at the Larsa Banquet Hall, located at 2107 E. Monte Vista Ave. Doors will open at 6 p.m. with hors d’oeuvres, silent and live auctions, a raffle, Italian cuisine, and a delicious dessert.
“All fundraising efforts are extremely important to the financial livelihood of our band and color guard programs,” said Denego. “Each year the band boosters must raise $35,000 to $40,000 to help cover the costs of maintaining the Pitman High School music program.”
Tickets are $30 each, or $200 for a table of eight. For more information or to purchase tickets, visit www.pitmanhighbands.com or call Ruth Terry at (209) 277-3706.
