A Tuesday evening automobile accident on Monte Vista Avenue claimed the life of one vehicle's 17-year-old passenger.<br /> <br /> The 9 p.m. Tuesday collision at the intersection of Monte Vista Avenue and Walnut Road also led to the closure of Monte Vista Avenue from N. Walnut Road to Golden State Boulevard until late Tuesday night.<br /> <br /> A Cadillac Escalade driven by an adult female was traveling westbound on W. Monte Vista Avenue through a green light at the intersection at N. Walnut Road.<br /> <br /> An adult male driving a Nissan Sentra was traveling east on Monte Vista Avenue and turned left on a circular green light into the path of the Cadillac. According to the Turlock Police Department, the Nissan was broadsided.<br /> <br /> The 19 year-old male driver of the Nissan sustained non-life threatening injuries due to the collision. One passenger in his vehicle, a 23-year-old male sitting in the front seat, sustained major but non-life threatening injuries.<br /> <br /> A 17-year-old passenger in the back seat of the Nissan sustained life-threatening injuries to the head. All occupants of the Nissan were transported to a nearby hospital. The 17-year-old succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead shortly after arrival at the hospital.<br /> <br /> The passengers and driver of the Cadillac were not injured.<br /> <br /> The Turlock Police Department does not believe that drugs, alcohol or speed were factors in this collision.<br /> <br /> The Turlock Police Department would also like to remind drivers to drive cautiously and to remember to follow all rules of the road at all times. TPD would also like to extend their condolences to all the family and friends of the deceased 17-year-old male.<br />
