The popular Turlock frozen yogurt shop The House of Yogurt is currently undergoing renovations, set to finish by May 1.
While the work is mostly cosmetic improvements, the popular yogurt shop will also gain a new juice bar in the renovations, House of Yogurt Owner Suzette Oliveira said.
“It’s a new idea,” said Oliveira. “It’s going to be a juice bar that features stuff like ‘the green drink,’ and is going to only have healthy, all natural, and organic items.”
Remodeling at the House of Yogurt began on Feb. 4 of this year, however, the construction has taken longer than Oliveira originally anticipated.
“They came in here one day and laid some tile, then disappeared for two weeks, but we should get most of it done soon,” said Oliveira.
Oliveira, who took over the House of Java and House of Yogurt, Too at the beginning of the year, said that upon reopening the House of Yogurt will offer a more limited selection of yogurt than before.
The House of Java has remained open throughout the remodeling of the House of Yogurt, and will continue to serve customers daily. Although Oliveira does not plan to make any changes to the House of Java side at this point, she said that the restaurant and coffeehouse may receive a new coat of paint sometime in the future once the House of Yogurt renovations are complete.
Oliveira said that as the remodeling progresses, more information will be made available to TurlockCityNews.com regarding the new features at the House of Yogurt.
The House of Java and House of Yogurt, Too is located at 2922 Geer Road in Turlock. To learn more about the House of Java, visit www.houseofjava.org.
