Hundreds of friends, family, and fans of Scott D. Roberts – a Turlock resident, author, film producer and director – joined together Thursday evening at the Grizzly Rock Café to celebrate the release of Roberts’ new novel “Vengeance is Now.”
“Vengeance is Now” is an erotic mystery thriller which critics are calling a “real-page-turner” full of plot twists. Roberts said that the main character, private investigator Tate Holloway, is seeking redemption while trying to clear his name after being framed for a heinous crime.
“He’s a very flawed character which I think are the most interesting,” said Roberts.
The book release party marked the beginning of Roberts’ month-long nationwide tour, which will take him to 10 cities from Denver to New York to hold book signings.
Roberts’ previous work includes an award-winning documentary entitled “Gas Hole,” which was narrated by actor Peter Gallagher. The documentary is now available in 17 countries and in six different languages. Roberts has also previously worked in television and film, working with some of the biggest studios in Hollywood including MGM, Warner Bros., Columbia, Paramount and many more.
With the successful release of his first novel, Roberts plans to continue the series for at least two more novels.
Everyone at the book release party was excited for Roberts, and many were talking about how much they enjoyed the book while waiting in line to have Roberts sign their copy.
“Thanks to all that came out to celebrate the release of my book,” said Roberts. “It was a lot of fun and I saw people that I haven’t seen for many years. Thanks again for everyone’s support.”
