Turlocker Jose Hinojosa, 48, was arrested Thursday on charges related to what Turlock Police term “inappropriate communications” with a 15-year-old girl.
According to Turlock Police Sgt. Stephen Webb, Hinjosa was requesting sexual favors from the girl.
Police allege that Hinjosa met the victim in a Turlock store, where he asked her for her phone number. Over time, their phone conversations became sexual in nature.
Turlock Police were informed of the communications on Thursday and launched an investigation which quickly led to Hinojosa's arrest.
A female Turlock Police Detective posed as the victim, calling Hinojosa from the victim's cellphone. Police say that Hinojosa offered money for sexual acts and agreed to meet in a local park, where Turlock Police detectives were waiting to take him in to custody.
Hinojosa was booked into Stanislaus County Jail on charges of Illegal Contact with a Minor and Arranging a Meeting with a Minor for Purposes of Engaging in Sexual Acts. Turlock Police do not believe there were any other victims.
