Turlock's most famous son made a surprise appearance in town on Thursday.
Colin Kaepernick, a Pitman High School graduate and current San Francisco 49ers quarterback, crashed his alma mater's graduation Thursday evening.
The appearance was a surprise to nearly all. He first appeared on a video screen, under the false pretenses that he was being shown live via satellite.
But then Kaepernick walked on stage, to roars of applause from the hundreds gathered.
Kap's surprise appearance came as he sought to honor his old high school football coach Brandon Harris. Harris will be leaving Pitman High School to coach at Idaho next year.
Needless to say, pictures and posts about Kap's Pitman appearance went viral on facebook within minutes.
"Stand up young man Colin is…great parents who raised him well," Jennifer Edwards stated on the TurlockCityNews.com facebook. "Great thing he did tonight for Coach Harris-he deserved such a great send off.. He will be missed!!"
