With Father’s Day weekend here, it’s time to get the barbeques out and ready for grilling. Luckily, The Greenery in Turlock has everything to help make Father’s Day complete – from gift baskets for dad to all the right ingredients for the perfect family BBQ.

“We have a full gourmet food line that we can gift wrap for you in a gift basket,” said Ali Stambaugh, a manager at The Greenery. “We carry cedar planks, a line of gourmet barbeque sauces, meat thermometers, barbeque brushes, gourmet sea salts, and everything you need for barbecuing.”

For those grilling on Father’s Day, a cedar plank will help add flavor and ensure a great barbecue, Stambaugh says.

“The cedar sets are cool to use because they’re different,” said Stambaugh. “You soak them in water for about 30 minutes and hydrate it, then you add the food on top and cook it on top of the grill. It adds a smoky flavor to your food, and it’ a lot quicker and convenient.”

The Greenery currently carries three different flavors of cedar planks, including Black Cherry, Sugar Maple, and White Cedar. A pack of two costs roughly $15.

“The barbeque stuff we have is really affordable,” said Stambaugh. “We have seasonings and sauces ranging from $4.95 to $8.95, and some really great cookbooks as well. You can put together a nice gift without spending a lot of money.”

The Greenery also has other Father’s Day gifts available, including gardening items, tools, gadgets, outdoor clocks, and much more. To finish it off, The Greenery is currently carrying handmade cards by local artist Ramona Lowe, a Turlock resident.

“Some of the cards are sports themed, we have the 49ers, the Giants, the A’s, but there are also ones available that have a moustache on it, or golfing and fishing,” said Stambaugh. “They’re all very cute.”

The Greenery is located at 742 East Olive Avenue in Turlock, and is open Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
