Turlock Police Chief’s Son Dies in Car Accident

Turlock Police Chief Rob Jackson’s son died yesterday afternoon during an auto accident in Hughson.

Jackson's son, Andrew Richardson, 23, was killed after his Jeep rolled over. Richardson was making an evasive maneuver to avoid a collision with a Honda traveling in front of him, both heading eastbound on Hatch Road, east of Baldwin Avenue.

According to CHP reports Richardson struck the right side of the Honda and rolled over into an embankment. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Honda, Michael Argento, 36, of Oakdale, sustained only minor injuries.

The Turlock Police Department issued the following statement on behalf of the Jackson family:

“Chief Jackson would like everyone to know that the young man who died during the accident was his eldest son. The Jackson family is devastated and going through the grieving process. We ask everyone to please respect the family’s privacy during these trying times.

“The family is currently in the process of making funeral arrangements. Please keep Chief Jackson and his family in your thoughts and prayers.”
