California State University, Stanislaus will look to build a stronger connection with the community by hosting a special CSU Stanislaus Night at the Turlock Farmers Market from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday.

The university will have 16 different booths featuring numerous departments and organizations, and displaying information. The university will also hold activities such as giveaways, games, arts and crafts, and Titus, the Warriors mascot will be on-hand.

The CSU Stanislaus Jazz Quintet will provide musical entertainment throughout the evening. Later in the night  Modesto California Wedding DJs will perform.  Guests are invited to bring chairs to sit back and enjoy the music.

The event fits in with new CSU Stanislaus President Joseph Sheley’s priorities, which include developing a partnership with the agricultural community and Downtown Turlock businesses.

The Turlock Certified Farmers Market is held on Broadway, between Main and A streets.

I am glad the community is allowing the university to be a part of the community event.
