Stolen Vehicle Pursuit Ends in Crash

A Turlock police pursuit of a stolen vehicle that started at 5:30 a.m. yesterday ended in a crash, just outside of Denair.

Turlock police report that an officer attempted to make a traffic stop on an Acura driving recklessly in the area of N. Berkeley Avenue and Chandler Drive. The male driver of the vehicle stopped momentarily, but then fled and a pursuit ensued.

The male has been identified by TPD as a 15-year-old Hispanic male. His name will not be released because he is a juvenile.

A short time later the pursuit ended in the outskirts of Denair when the driver lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a tree. The car was later determined to be stolen.

The driver of the Acura suffered critical injuries as a result of the collision and was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. He remains in critical condition at this time.
