Looking for a career in manufacturing? Blue Diamond Growers may be looking for you.
Blue Diamond Growers will hold a Career Meet and Greet on Oct. 30 at the Turlock War Memorial, with 22 jobs to be filled at its new Turlock plant.
The hiring event is being hosted by the Stanislaus Economic and Workforce Alliance, the City of Turlock, and Blue Diamond.
“Because of the success Blue Diamond Growers experienced at the Central Valley Job Fair back in September, they approached us about organizing an event where they would have the opportunity to continue to meet face-to-face with applicants,” said Ninfa Lopez-Smith. “The City of Turlock has been very supportive when it comes to any jobs initiative, so they joined the partnership and provided a place to hold the event.”
The Alliance anticipates between 200 and 250 jobseekers at the hiring event – ten for every one position. Pre-registering is required, as only a limited number of sign-ups will be accepted.
Despite the expected high turnout, events like the Career Meet and Greet present a great opportunity for jobhunters, Lopez-Smith said.
“The advantage in attending this event is that applicants will have an opportunity to meet face-to-face with company representatives, learn about the company culture, the positions, ask questions and learn about the specifics of the hiring process,” Lopez-Smith said.
The morning will kick off at 9 a.m. with a brief presentation from Blue Diamond Growers on career opportunities. Jobseekers are advised to dress in appropriate attire and bring a copy of their resume.
Blue Diamond is looking for people with a “solid work history,” ideally with more than two years spent as a machine operator. Those currently employed but in search of higher wages are encouraged to attend, as are veterans with transitional skills.
Blue Diamond is hiring operator technicians for both the ready-to-eat and raw food lines, quality control personnel, and electro-mechanical technicians.
The Blue Diamond Career Meet and Greet will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 30 at the Turlock War Memorial, 247 E. Canal Dr.
