A teenage motorcyclist from Denair was killed in a Turlock accident Friday morning.

The 19-year-old, whose name has not been released, was riding a Harley Davidson westbound on West Main Street at speeds in excess of 70 miles-per-hour. As he neared Tegner Road, traffic was stopped and the rider began to brake.

The motorcycle's wheels skid due to hard braking, and the bike went down. Both the Harley and the man slid for hundreds of feet, with the motorcyclist separating from the bike and colliding into the back of a car.

The motorcyclist sustained fatal internal injuries, despite wearing a helmet.

It remains unknown if drugs or alcohol were involved in the collision. The investigation is continuing.

Those who witnessed the collision, or have any information, are asked to call Ofc. Mike Simbalenko at (209) 668-5550 ext. 6723.
