Heard the one about San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick being seriously injured in a car crash?
Don't believe everything that you read.
The hoax alleges that Kaepernick, a Pitman High School graduate, broke both legs in a traffic accident. The hoaxer says that Kaepernick was driving a 2012 BMW, when a 76-year-old woman driving a 2010 Audi failed to stop at a red light and collided with the quarterback at a high rate of speed.
The fake article cites the San Francisco Highway Safety Authority – a non-existent organization – as its source. The article was allegedly penned by Global Associated News – another fake entity. And no matter when one visits the site, it says the article was posted 30 minutes ago.
The website actually states at the bottom that the article is entirely fake, and is “a complete work of fiction for entertainment purposes!” But that text is obscured below the website's footer, in a gray-on-gray text box.
The hoax was created using the website FakeAWish.com, a site established solely to create fake celebrity news posts.

Is Kaepernick the victim or am I the victim of the hoax?
