Geraldine (Gerry) Siemens of Turlock, passed away at the age of 94 on Wednesday, December 11, 2013 with her loving family by her side. Gerry was born on August 11, 1919 in Finger, Tennessee, to Rube Garfield Young and Cozy (Meek) Young. Gerry was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands Peter Walter Siemens and Pappy Lazzar; her brothers, Hobert, Joe, and Ralph; and sisters Frankie and Morine.
Gerry graduated from Chester County High School in 1937. She married Pete Siemens in 1945. Their daughter Carol was born in 1946 and son Ron was born in 1950. She worked very hard all of her life from picking cotton and working in a shirt factory to being a bookkeeper/accountant for over 40 years.
After almost 42 years of marriage, Pete passed away in 1986. She married Pappy Lazzar in 1989 and they enjoyed 8 years together before his death in 1997.
Gerry loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ with all her heart and she served faithfully in each of her church homes. She taught Sunday school for many years and also served as church treasurer for at least three churches. She was a founding member of El Camino Bible Church and Lake Don Pedro Baptist Church and a member of Berkeley Ave. Baptist Church.
Gerry loved her family and friends, her garden, reading, crossword puzzles and picture puzzles.
Gerry is survived by her son Ron and wife Susan Siemens of Turlock, CA; daughter Carol and husband Rod Greenfield of Visalia, CA.; seven grandchildren, Janine Greenfield, Tyler Siemens, Jana Siemens, Laurin Chichkanoff, Deseriee Whitwer, Tammy Visger, and Alexis Visger; and eight great-grandchildren, Sean, Kyle, Zachery, Jacob, Shayla, Vance, Tysen, and Trezden. She is also survived by her brother Dennis Young, and sister Jane Stacks of Henderson, Tennessee.
