A serial burglar has struck three California State University, Stanislaus offices in the past week, stealing computers and technology equipment.

The California State University Stanislaus University Police Department has named Scott Tackett, 22, as the alleged thief and suspect. He remains at-large.

Surveillance footage shows Tackett entering campus facilities during off hours on Dec. 31, when he allegedly stole a computer and an external hard drive from Demergasso-Bava Hall Room 122. He struck again on Jan. 2, when he allegedly stole two computers from the University Student Union room 200.

Tackett allegedly broke in to university property yet again last night. He allegedly took laptops, a brand new desktop, and other items from CSU Stanislaus Office of Information Technology on the southwest side of the Library.

Tackett is 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighs approximately 140 pounds.

Tacket has prior arrests for DUI, several burglaries, receiving stolen property, resisting arrest and numerous moving vehicle violations including driving with a suspended license.

The investigation is ongoing. Officers have increased patrols throughout campus in hopes of catching Tackett.

The CSU Stanislaus University Police Department asks the community to not approach Tackett if they see him, and to immediately call 9-1-1.

Persons with information should call University Police at 209-667-3114. To provide an anonymous tip visit Crime Stoppers at http://www.stancrimetips.org.
