A suspect driving a stolen pick-up truck led officers on a high-speed chase through Turlock Friday night, ending in front of Walmart.
The incident started at 7:39 p.m., when California Highway Patrol officers made contact with the stolen vehicle, a Chevy Silverado Extended Cab pick-up, near the intersection of Geer Road and Taylor Drive. While the CHP officer was waiting for backup, the driver sped off.
The ensuing chase involved several CHP officers, and Turlock police officers were called in for assistance.
The chase came to a conclusion just more than 10 minutes after it started, CHP officials said, when the driver was apprehended in front of the Walmart on Fulkerth Road in Turlock. The driver's name is not being released at this time.
