Downtown Turlock's Vintage Lounge & Piano Bar will reopen in a new location tonight, as the piano bar has completed it's long-planned move from 110 to 130 E. Main St.

The new venue for the piano bar is the old site of Fontis Spa & Salon, less than a block down from the lounge’s old spot.

Although many essential aspects of the lounge are expected to remain, such as light appetizers and live entertainment including music and comedy shows, the Vintage Lounge will add dancing to the new venue. The Turlock Police Department recently approved a dancing grant for the new building, one of only a handful in the city. The lounge’s dress code will continue to be enforced.

Lounge-goers tonight can dance the night away in a larger venue at the reopening, as today Vintage Lounge staff hurried to finish the last-minute details. The new venue holds up to 196 people.

According to the lounge, they held a soft opening for the new venue with friends last night. But the first official customers of the new Vintage Lounge, Hano Yadegar and Tony Alahverdi, sat down this evening for their first drink to christen the bar for the public.

After the opening tonight, the new location is expected to be open from 11 a.m. until 2 a.m. Tuesday through Saturday, closing a half-hour later than the old site. The Vintage Lounge will only open Sundays and Mondays for special occasions.

Congratulations to Dan Grey and his staff at the Vintage Lounge. Fortunately, the city of Turlock has a police chief who undesrtands business and doesn't try to stop downtown development for the benefit of unethical council members. Grey was the first one to re-invest in downtown Turlock, and no one seems to thank him. Keep up the great work. Why won't Matt Swanson support the mobile food vendors, what is he afraid of? First he pushes religion down our throats with Greg Laurie, then his politics with the girl-wonder, Sarah Palin, now he hides his backdoor deals with Erik Gonsalves. We need a new city manager NOW
