Beatrice Rozario, 90, of Denair, passed away at Turlock Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Turlock. She was born on the family farm on Walnut Road in Hughson to Thomas and Anna Vega. Beatrice grew up on the family farm where they had a dairy, sweet potatoes, and almonds. She graduated from Hughson High School and married her lifelong sweetheart, the “boy from down the road”, Tony Rozario.
Bea was an active member of Sacred Heart Parish and the Portuguese Lodges SPRSI, and a past President of the Cabrillo Club in Modesto. In addition to her tireless work at home, Bea worked for many years at Polly Ann Bakery and Children’s World in Turlock. She loved playing bingo. But, Bea’s first love was for her family. She was a good Mom, homemaker, and Grandma. She was known to the Denair Middle School kids as “Miss Bea” where she worked from 1997 to 2008. She retired just five years ago at age 85!
Beatrice is survived by her loving son Lionel (Edie) Rozario of Denair, two grandchildren: Shelly (Randy) Smith and Lynnell Fuller; and three great grandchildren: Derek Smith, Erika Smith, and Anthony Fuller. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be at Allen Mortuary on Thursday, Jan. 23rd from 4 to 7 pm. followed by a Rosary at 7 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be at Our Lady of the Assumption Church at 9:30 am on Friday, Jan 24th.. Burial will follow at Turlock Memorial Park. Memorial Gifts are designated for Covenant Care Hospice of Turlock.
