TurlockCityNews.com Introduces New Reporter

Eagle-eyed readers may have noticed a new name popping up on some TurlockCityNews.com bylines and photo credits.

It's my pleasure to introduce the man behind that name, Brandon McMillan, as TurlockCityNews.com's newest reporter.

With his hiring, TurlockCityNews.com is making yet another investment into Turlock news. TurlockCityNews.com is the only locally owned and operated daily news source in Turlock, and is now the most popular as well – more than 225,000 unique people visited TurlockCityNews.com in January alone.

McMillan is Turlock born and bred. More than that, he's a skilled journalist.

McMillan graduated magna cum laude from California State University, Stanislaus, where he majored in Communication Studies and minored in Journalism.

While at CSU Stanislaus, McMillan was a managing editor, op-ed editor, and staff writer for the student newspaper, “The Signal.” He also volunteers as an on-air radio DJ for the student radio station, KCSS 91.9FM.

In his spare time, McMillan plays bass guitar and collects records.

McMillan primarily will be covering breaking news stories for TurlockCityNews.com. To contact him, e-mail Brandon@TurlockCityNews.com.

Please join me in welcoming TurlockCityNews.com's newest addition. We look forward to sharing more exciting news about TurlockCityNews.com in the months and weeks to come.

wow, 25,0000 unique visitors in a month? Very impressive considering the population of Turlock is what, 80,000? 😉

  2. Population says:

The population between Stanislaus and Merced counties is an estimated 800,000. With all the regional shopping and businesses I would expect that to be the draw.

I’m curious how many people have lived here who don’t but still stay up on Turlock’s happenings because they have family here in their home town. Is there a way to find that information?

  3. Lee Can't Read says:

Hey Lee, it actually says 225,000.

  4. jmitchell says:

Lee… please stop posting, your ignorance is showing….225,000 unique visitors does NOT represent the population of Turlock, it is the statistical number of times UNIQUE IP addresses visit the site. Did you log in at work and check TCN? that’s a unique visit. Did you log in at home andmcheck TCN? that’s another unique IP address…. do you live in Denair? Keyes? Hughson? Ceres? Delhi? Livingston? Hickman? Hilmar? Modesto? Outside the city limits? Maybe you’re a former Turlock resident that lives in San Francisco, L.A., or the East Coast and check the hometown news online, I know PLENTY of people in other states who check it…all UNIQUE IP addresses. SEO also brings unique visitors to the page. 225,000 does not represent the same visitors every month either…so please, don’t bore people with your attempt to sound informed and relevant… because you’re not

jeez, jmitchell, relax. Like I said ( or meant ) 225,000 is impressive. So there.

  6. Good says:

No matter what who cares this is the place for news that keeps me updated in Turlock

  7. Joey says:

I don’t know what the definition of unique visitors or the number. But I would like someone to tell me how many unique visitors the Turlock Journal has or Modesto Bee. Can someone at Turlock City News give us “common” people those facts?

  8. lee says:

“NUMBER OF UNIQUE VISITORS: 88,131 visitors for August 2013” that’s taken from the advertising page: turlockcitynews.com/advertising-packages-desktop

that’s a big jump in just 6 months!
