Around Turlock – February 10

Submitted/TurlockCityNews.com|

Some Turlockers grew tired of waiting at a broken railroad crossing on Monday.

Once again, the railroad crossing arms became stuck in the down position at the Olive Avenue crossing. The crossing has had several malfunctions in recent months.

Several drivers made the potentially dangerous decision to drive around the crossing arms, and onto the tracks. An 80-year-old woman was allegedly doing just that, at the exact same crossing, when she was struck by a freight train and killed on Aug. 21, 2013.
