A major accident on Sunday blocked off a portion of Soderquist Road, and sent at least one to the hospital.
Turlock police and emergency services responded to a two-car collision at the intersection of Soderquist Road and Park Street at 4:20 p.m.
One person was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries, said Turlock Police Department spokesperson Sgt. Stephen Webb.
It is unknown at this time which vehicle the injured party was in. A full police report has not been released.
Witnesses said a blue Ford Mustang was traveling northbound on Soderquist Road when it collided with a red Nissan sedan turning left onto southbound Soderquist Road from Park Street.
The Mustang was speeding and ran the stop sign at Soderquist Road and Flower Street, said witnesses.
The collision sent both vehicles spinning, with one ending up in a residence’s front lawn and the other ending up against the fence at the Turlock Memorial Park and Funeral Home.
Turlock police have not yet determined the cause of the accident.
