Spring is finally here, and it’s time to get outside.
Want a great way to enjoy the Easter holiday with your family and come together with the community for no cost? Look no further.
The women of the Phi Sigma Sigma sorority, a non-profit organization, will host their 15th annual community Easter Egg Hunt at the California State University, Stanislaus Quad from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday.
"Our Easter egg hunt is a great way to spend time with family and friends and give back to the community," Bertha Giron, Phi Sigma Sigma Philanthropy Chair, said.
For the sisters of the Theta Mu chapter of Phi Sigma Sigma, the Easter Egg Hunt is more than just an event: It’s a fundraiser for the Phi Sigma Sigma Foundation, which benefits school and college readiness.
The Phi Sigma Sigma Easter Egg Hunt is a free event, open to students, faculty, staff and the community. Those 12 years old or younger should be sure to bring their easter egg baskets.
The festivities will begin at 11 a.m. with four staggered easter egg hunts, divided according to age group.
From then on, people of all ages are invited to enjoy carnival games, face painting and crafts. Guests can even take pictures with the Easter Bunny.
Attendees are also encouraged to stop by and Pie-a-Phi, a traditional fundraiser event where people can donate money to throw a whipped cream pie in the face of whichever sorority member they choose.
Along with the free activities, the women of Phi Sigma Sigma will sell hot dogs, cotton candy and refreshments – in case the little ones’ tummies start grumbling.
So dust off your bikes and invite your family and friends to pedal down to campus to breathe in the springtime air and create Easter memories to last a lifetime.
