A small Modesto office filled with a large number of people Friday afternoon, as congressional candidate Michael Eggman (D-Turlock) held a grand opening for his new campaign headquarters.
Eggman, who is one of two men challenging U.S. Rep. Jeff Denham (R-Turlock) for his seat in the U.S. Congress, was enthused by the turnout despite the inclement weather.
“We’ve got people standing outside the door in the rain,” Eggman said. “I’m honored to have all these citizens out here supporting me.”
Eggman, a Turlock farmer and beekeeper, spoke one-on-one with all those in attendance, making his way around the room to hear about local residents’ issues.
Eggman is a Turlock farmer and beekeeper. He has aggressively campaigned against Denham’s record, primarily his participation in the government shutdown and budget votes.
Eggman, Denham, and Mike Barkley (D), a Manteca lawyer and CPA, are competing in the June 3 primary election for the 10th District Congressional seat. The top two votegetters will then proceed to the November election, when the 10th District Rep. will be chosen.
