Turlock police arrested a suspect on Thursday evening after he led them on a high-speed pursuit through the southwest part of town in a stolen vehicle.

Turlock police received a report of a stolen white Honda Civic from the area of Bernell Avenue and Martinez Street around 5:23 p.m. on Thursday, said Turlock Police Department Cpl. Joey Rodriguez.

The suspect, later identified as Lionel Villanueva, 20, was spotted by police driving the Honda westbound on Montana Avenue. When officers spotted Villanueva, he fled, said Rodriguez.

Villanueva allegedly led police on a pursuit through the southwest part of town, reaching speeds up to 50 mph.

During the pursuit, Villanueva hit two parked cars, ran through a stop sign, and collided with a residence, said Rodriguez.

The pursuit ended in the 600 block of South Minaret Avenue when Villanueva pulled into the driveway of residence on the block.

Villanueva was arrested for possession of a stolen vehicle, resisting arrest, and hit and run.
