The 7-11 on Geer Road may need a facelift.

In recent years, the area surrounding 7-11 has been remodeled with a new fast food restaurant, a rebuilt fast food restaurant, and a new grocery store.

In 2011, the Shell gas station that stood on the corner of Geer Road and Minnesota Avenue was demolished to make way for the Burger King that now sits at the corner. At the same time, the McDonald’s on the corner of Geer and Tuolumne roads was demolished and rebuilt.

In 2013, the old Mervyn’s building behind 7-11 was turned into a Walmart Neighborhood Market.

And now, across the street, the old Carr’s Cleaners location is being transformed into a Yogurt Mill and Little Caesars.

It may be time for 7-11 to modernize with its surroundings.
