Turlock is expecting to heat up this week, hitting triple digit temperatures for the first time this year.
Weather.com is reporting that Turlock could hit a high of 100 degrees on Wednesday, which would be the hottest day in Turlock so far this year.
Triple digits could hit once again on Thursday, as Weather.com is expecting a high of 102 degrees. It’ll cool a bit going into the weekend, but it seems as though summer is officially here.
To beat the heat, there’s no waterpark yet, but there are couple of local water features that could help keep kids cool in the summer heat.
Two parks with water features, Broadway Park, located at 501 N. Broadway, and Columbia Park, 600 Columbia St., opened on April 1. These “aquatic playgrounds” are open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. until Sept. 30.
Turlock’s recreation pools will also be opening in June. Columbia Pool will be opening on June 14, and will be open from 12:15 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and noon to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. The Pitman High and Turlock High school pools both open on June 16 and will be open from 12:15 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Pitman’s pool closes August 7 and Turlock’s pool closes July 24. Both are closed July 4, while the Columbia pool will be open.
Pools are $1 entry for those under 18, $2 for those over 18. Kids must be at least 8 to enter without an adult.
