A collision between a pickup and big rig briefly blocked a portion of Monte Vista Avenue near the Countryside Road intersection on Monday night.

The pickup truck collided with a big rig after the big rig turned in front of the pickup while pulling into the Panera Bread parking lot.

The pickup was traveling westbound on Monte Vista Avenue in the lane closest to the curb around 10:15 p.m., when it collided with the big rig.

The big rig was traveling slightly ahead of the pickup, in the lane to the left of the pickup, and took a wide turn into the parking lot for a delivery.

The accident blocked two lanes of Monte Vista Avenue while the pickup was towed away and the wreckage was cleaned up.

It is unknown why the big rig turned in front of the pickup.

An occupant of the pickup was treated for a head injury, but was not transported to the hospital.
