Authorities Shoot, Kill Suspect in Friday’s Double Homicide

The Turlock Police Department is actively investigating an officer involved shooting involving Merced County Sheriff’s deputies that occurred Saturday morning.

The shooting occurred on the 200 block of South Walnut Road at approximately 5:20 a.m.

Units responded to the Motel 6, located on the 200 block of South Walnut Road, to assist Merced County deputies who were in search of the suspect who had allegedly shot and killed two victims on the 11000 block of South Lander Avenue, in Merced County, on Friday night.

The male suspect is deceased and investigators are still on scene.

The Friday night incident was reported to Merced County Sheriff’s shortly before 8 p.m. A female called 911 and reported shots fired and that two people had been killed.

A portion of South Walnut Road is blocked off between West Main Street and the Hot Rod Diner parking lot as of 10:15 a.m due to the ongoing investigation.
