After a man with a large wound on his leg was causing a disturbance at a Turlock bar Tuesday night, he was arrested for an auto burglary that caused the wound.

David Rivera-Cruz, 22, was allegedly intoxicated and attempting to get into Staley’s Club at approximately 11:54 p.m Tuesday. Witnesses say he was bleeding on the floor, refused medical attention, and asked for napkins.

Turlock police were flagged down due to the disturbance, and contacted Rivera-Cruz who was found to have what appeared to be a stab wound on his leg.

Rivera-Cruz was transported to an area hospital for treatment of the wound.

Later, Turlock police were called to the 100 block of S. Center Street on the report of an auto burglary.

Through investigating the burglary, officers found that Rivera-Cruz was wounded by breaking the window on the burglared vehicle.

Rivera-Cruz was also found to be in possession of the victim’s property when he was first contacted by officers.

Rivera-Cruz was arrested and booked for possession of stolen property and auto burglary.
