A California Highway Patrol officer was transported to a hospital Sunday evening after their patrol car was hit by another vehicle on Highway 99.
Just before 6 p.m., a black Cadillac Escalade allegedly collided into a CHP patrol car on northbound Highway 99, just past the Lander Avenue onramp.
Shortly after the accident, CHP reported that the officer was not moving and was injured. The officer was out of the vehicle minutes later.
It is unknown the extent of the officer's injuries, but they are believed to be minor.
At this time, it is also unknown if any occupants of the Escalade were injured in the accident.
One lane was briefly closed following the accident, snarling traffic in the northbound direction.
