With summer here and the strawberries ripe, there are plenty of places for Turlockers to pick up the sweet, bright produce.

Strawberry stands are nothing new, but the environments they sit in certainly are changing. More and more strawberry stands sit in more suburban areas, as city sprawl crawls in around them. Instead of driving out to find a strawberry stop, many stands now are located right “in town,” like this field with suburban homes just yards away.
