Turlockers are hungry folks and are clamoring for the much-anticipated opening of the Yogurt Mill and Little Caesar’s Pizza in the University Plaza shopping center, at 2685 Geer Rd.

Yogurt Mill founder Larry Young said the new Turlock location will not open until between mid-January and Feb. 15 and he said it is possible Little Caesar’s Pizza could be open “a few weeks” before Yogurt Mill.

Originally Young had announced an optimistic opening date of “late fall” to “early 2015." Unfortunately for Turlockers looking for a frozen treat, Young said Yogurt Mill will more likely open in the beginning of 2015, as he is currently awaiting the final plans revisions from the City of Turlock and Stanislaus County.

The exterior of the building is nearly complete, however interior construction is still underway.

Young said he is aware many people are excited about the opening.

“So many people have been asking us to come to Turlock, and we are excited to have this location in the heart of Turlock’s established area,” said Young. “This is really cool, you can get a pizza and get a yogurt. We are really hoping to provide a lot of value to college students. We offer more value for the money and we are known for large, quality portions for a fair price.”

The Yogurt Mill will have a meeting room and both indoor and outdoor seating. Yogurt Mill’s winter hours will be 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday to Thursday and until 11 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. In the summer months they will remain open until 10:30 p.m. on weeknights and midnight on Friday and Saturday.

Yogurt Mill currently has three locations in Modesto.
