As Turlockers are asked to cut back on water, or face a $500 fine, citizens continue to be concerned that apartments and business owners are wasting water.
Pictured here is water runoff from a watering day at the Monte Vista Townhouses, located on the corner of Monte Vista Avenue and James Lane.
According to the Turlocker who spotted the water wasting, the gutters are constantly flooded when the complex waters its lawns.

U should get some facts straight I’m the onsite at this complex I’ve been here over a year and have had issues with this section of the city gutter, the city fixed it once and I called again this month telling them to fix they told me that its a low spot and between when we water and the house next to the alleyway it stays like that its the cities job to fix the reason water sits there, we r following city rules and guide lines
Aye, teresa
You should learn how to type… “U” is well, lazy… so is “r”… I do realize there are more than one type of “r”… “are” and “our” but even if you don’t know which to use… you should just try.. I mean.. come on.. don’t half ass your life away.
I think the point is, no water should be running into the gutter as a result of landscape irrigation in times of severe drought. I’m not sure a green landscape benefits that specific complex at all.
I’m pretty sure the complaints aren’t about the water just sitting there. You know it’s a waist when water intended for the lawn ends up in the gutter. If the water pictured is from your neighbors watering system, then they need to fix it. If it is from your complexes watering system, then you need to fix it.
