A GoFundMe page has been set up for the victims of July 27's arson on the 400 block of Verduga Road to help them start a new life after losing everything in the fire.
On the morning of July 27, George Nazar, 51, allegedly set fire to an occupied RV trailer on his property on the 400 block of Verduga Road before barricading himself in a residence.
Denair Fire Department responded to the scene, but were not able to contain the fire because Nazar was allegedly armed with several guns and ammunition inside a home.
Stanislaus County Sheriff’s deputies eventually talked Nazar out of the house, but the fire had ripped through the RV trailer and an outbuilding, destroying both.
Brenda and Richard Koontz, the victims of the arson, lost everything in the fire. A GoFundMe page has been set up to help them recover.
“We are not only asking for donations, but anything is appreciated,” says the GoFundMe page.
Nazar was arrested and booked on three counts of attempted murder, arson, aggravated arson, and possession of flammable material with the intent to burn.
