Yonan’s Jewelers of Turlock, located at 2485 Geer Rd. will be holding an Unclaimed Layaway and Clearance Sale beginning tomorrow at 10 a.m. and through regular business hours Saturday, including items anywhere from $5 and up.
Employees explained that sometimes items are put on layaway that end up abandoned when customers never finish paying and the jewelry sits unused in store.
Other times the items were brought in for fixing, but customers never came into Yonan’s to pick up their jewelry and pay for the service. According to Retail Sales Manager Pius Isaac, this includes unclaimed watches that simply needed new batteries.
The unclaimed layaway and “forgotten” items will include rings, bracelets, necklaces, pendants, and men's and women's watches, including a Rolex, usually $5,500, will be on sale for only $2,900. Grab bags will up for sale, with items valued up to $1,000 inside. The grab bags start at $5 and range up in price to $100.
"It's stuff like that you'll find tomorrow," said owner Ed Yonan, in reference to the unused items and great deals.
Some regular inventory will also be on sale at 30 percent off, such as Charles-Hubert men’s and ladies' watches, including pocket watches.
The sale will have up to 60 percent off other in-stock jewelry merchandise and include a special financing offer.
"We have a special 18 percent months financing (on approved credit) being offered until Saturday, perfect for anniversaries, birthdays, and engagements," said Ailin Yadegarian.
The sale will take place Aug. 8 from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and Aug. 9 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
