My dad just saw this man standing on the tracks while he was driving tonight. He thought it seemed weird and called me to tell me about it. He said that the car behind him stopped and got out to talk to the man, so my dad continued on his way home. How sad…

@Vera – YEAH! Like flashing lights, bells and arms to keep cars off the tracks when a train is coming. They should also make the engineer blow the horn at EVERY intersection! Oh, wait….

I just knew someone was going to blame the train rather than the people ignoring the train warnings! The poor bastard that got hit simply made a bad decision. On the other hand he may have had a death wish in which case throwing oneself in front of a moving train is a great way to get results. Stay safe out there people!

Yes Kathy, the trains just cannot seem to stop in time when people are standing on the tracks in the dark, ignoring the bells, flashing lights, train horns that warn of a train approaching at a possible speed in excess of 50mph. Yep, shame on those train operator’s who just ignored a person they couldn’t see and weren’t able to stop a train probably in excess of 1,000 tons on a dime so the man in the dark wouldn’t die. The ignorance of you people blaming the trains is just unbelievable. Educate yourselves.

Yes, because moving the trains away from town would be Sooo much easier then just paying attention to what your doing . Trains are not the problem. People are.

The railroad is a private entity. They are not publicly owned and therefore the humongous charges and video and logs of which you speak are erroneous.

In this world if one wants to throw themselves in harms way and commit suicide that is there decision whether good or bad right or wrong and you cant blame anyone else although that seems to be human nature

Stop blaming the trains. Blame the idiots that think they can beat the train.

If you get hit by a train you either want to die or you are an idiot. Sorry people the truth hurts. I feel for you that you lost a loved one but that’s reality.
