Job Watch: City of Turlock Hiring Assistant/Associate Planner


The City of Turlock is accepting applications for the full-time Assistant/Associate Planner position which has a salary ranging from $4,763 to $5,790 plus benefits depending on experience.

Qualifications include a Bachelor’s Degree in City or Regional Planning, Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Civil Engineering, Public Administration, Urban Studies, Social Science, Geography or a related field.

Two years of experience of full-time, professional level work in planning, public administration or a Masters Degree in Planning, Public Administration or a related field are also required.

Desirable qualifications include the ability to speak both English and Spanish.

Job duties include: the ability to review, collect, analyze, and interpret data pertaining to planning; prepare clear, concise verbal and written reports; have a knowledge of principles and practices applicable to city planning and basic statistical measurements and methods of analysis; engineering/architectural drawings and site plans; and knowledge of California planning and zone laws, and California Environmental Quality Act requirements.
