SEAPA to Hold Seminar to Help Prevent Elderly Financial Abuse

The Stanislaus Elder Abuse Prevention Alliance (SEAPA) will be holding a Seniors Against Financial Exploitation (SAFE) Seminar on Aug. 22 at the Larsa Banquet Hall, located at 2107 E. Monte Vista Ave..

The seminar focuses on teaching attendants how to prevent elder abuse with an emphasis on financial abuse.

There will be approximately 25 agencies on hand with information, as well as staff to assist seniors regarding services they might be interested in and eligible for.

The SAFE Seminar will be held 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. with breakfast and lunch being served. Registration begins at 8 a.m.

SEAPA is an alliance of county agencies, law enforcement and non-profits which fight elder and dependent adult abuse. SEAPA staff not only educate the general public, they also coordinate training for mandated reporters of abuse and neglect.
