Authorities apprehended Richard White, 38, of Turlock, on Thursday afternoon in connection with a Modesto home invasion on July 28.
The Turlock Police Department were asked to assist U.S. Marshals Apprehension Team in apprehending White after information of his whereabouts was received by the U.S. Marshals, said Turlock police spokesperson Sgt. James Silveira.
A tip was received earlier on Thursday that White was located at a residence on the 200 block of Flowerglen Avenue, but Turlock police and assisting units responded to the scene at approximately 3:10 p.m., said Silveira.
Authorities surrounded the residence and commanded White to surrender. White complied and was apprehended without incident. A California Highway Patrol helicopter was also seen circling the area during the incident.
White was wanted for his alleged involvement in a Modesto home invasion on July 28. White, along with alleged accomplices Daniel Reagan, 27, of Oakdale, and Maureen Buchanan, 31, allegedly robbed a home on the 2800 block of Stoneridge Drive in Modesto.
Buchanan allegedly let White and Reagan into a home she was visiting. The two male suspects allegedly had a firearm, ransacked the home, and struck the victim in the head with the gun.
The suspects allegedly stole a vehicle from the victim’s garage.
White’s charges are unknown at this time, but he was wanted for home invasion and robbery. A press release from the Modesto Police Department said he and Reagan were also wanted for carjacking.
Buchanan is currently in custody for home invasion, robbery, carjacking, and conspiracy.
Reagan remains at-large is considered armed and dangerous.
