The Turlock Irrigation Board of Directors will hold a workshop at the regularly scheduled meeting on Tuesday to consider adjusting irrigation rates for customers to fund other projects on the horizon.
The workshop will begin with a presentation by Tou Her, TID Assistant General Manager of Water Resources, to inform the Board of what adjustments can be made to current irrigation rates.
TID spokesperson Calvin Curtain said the possible increase in rates is being considered to help fund the cost of future projects and delivering water next year.
There will be an opportunity for public comment during the workshop, similar to the Domestic Water Project Workshops that were recently held.
Calvin added that future meetings and workshops are in the works, also similar to the Domestic Water Project Workshops, to continue to discuss the possible rate increase with the public. At this time, there is no date set for the future meetings and workshops.
At Tuesday’s meeting, the Board of Directors are also expected to consider:
- Abandoning nine parcels containing 33.39 acres from eight improvement districts.
- Amending the job classification by adding four new job classifications for Credit and Collections Manager, Customer Service Manager, Information Technology Service Desk Supervisor, and Information Technology Services Project Analyst I, II, and Senior, and revising four existing job classifications.
- Canceling the regular TID Board meeting on Sept. 2.
The TID Board of Directors will meet at 9 a.m. Tuesday in the Board Room of the TID Main Office Building, 333 E. Canal Dr.
