The Stanislaus County Coroner’s Office has tentatively identified the transient male who died following a bicycle fall on the night of Aug. 22 on Fulkerth Road.
James Roberts, 68, has been reported as the victim in the incident, however this identification is only tentative at this time.
Turlock police responded to the 1700 block of Fulkerth Road at 8:10 p.m. on the report of a man down. Initial reports lead officers to believe the man tentatively identified as Roberts had been struck by a vehicle.
The Turlock Police Department reported that Roberts had fallen off his bicycle, possibly due to a medical condition. Roberts hit his head on the pavement and was bleeding profusely, said a witness to the fall.
Roberts was transported to an area hospital, but was declared deceased shortly after.
Officials at the Stanislaus County Coroner’s Office have not been able to contact any family of Roberts.
