The Turlock Police Department has reported a shooting occurred between vehicles on Chestnut Street shortly after midnight on Friday.
Police responded to the 1000 block of Chestnut Street at approximately 12:50 a.m. on Friday on the report of shots fired.
According to Turlock police spokesperson Sgt. Victor Barcelos, witnesses in the area reported that there had been a drive-by shooting between two vehicles.
Barcelos said witnesses reported seeing a silver newer “Honda-type” car approach and fire a gunshot at a stopped truck.
The truck then fled and the “Honda-type” followed. The two vehicles were last seen traveling south on Soderquist Road, said Barcelos.
Witnesses reported hearing two more gunshots when the vehicles were traveling on Soderquist.
No injuries have been reported at this time, and no one with gunshot wounds has been admitted to area hospitals, said Barcelos.
Neither vehicle has been located at this time.
This was the second drive-by shooting in Turlock in less than a week. On Aug. 23, a shooting between two vehicles hospitalized a 14-year-old male and led to the arrest of the driver of the vehicle that was shot as it was found to be stolen. The shooting party remains at-large.
