Work by CalTrans crews has led to a massive back up on southbound Highway 99 from just south of the Monte Vista Avenue overpass to Whitmore Avenue in Ceres.
The back up is caused by a CalTrans maintenance crews working on slab replacement and the subsequent reduction of open lanes from three to two near the Keyes Road exit, and down to a single open lane near the Taylor Road exit.
According to CalTrans, motorists should expect 20-minute delays today between until approximately 2:30 p.m.
Work is scheduled as listed, but is subject to change due to traffic incidents, availability of equipment, materials and construction related issues.

Wouldn’t that be northbound if the traffic is starting in Turlock to Ceres?
The traffic is headed south… hence southbound on Highway 99. Here’s a nickel, buy a clue and by the way, if you simply look at the picture with the article the vehicles are clearly going southbound.
Southbound is correct. They’re saying the southbound lanes are backed up from Turlock to Ceres
