The Turlock Fire Department will be conducting live fire training on Saturday and Sunday, subsequently closing a portion of Roberts Road.

Live fire training will occur from 8 a.m. to no later than 8 p.m. at 3606 N. Golden State Blvd. both days. Roberts Road between Mountain View Road and Golden State Boulevard will be closed during the training, but will reopen each day after training finishes.

In addition to the Roberts Road closure, Golden State Boulevard will be reduced to one lane in the area; Mountain View Road and Christoffersen Parkway will both be open to traffic.

The Turlock Fire Department says that all efforts to mitigate impact from smoke will be made during the training, and the Turlock Fire Department will adjust training if significant amounts of smoke become an issue.

The training will take place at the soon-to-be location of a new Taco Bell, following Turlock City Council’s decision to deny filed appeals.

Staff at the training location will be available to answer any questions.
