The Turlock Police Department have released the ages of the three victims who were hit and killed by a speeding vehicle in a residential neighborhood on Saturday night.
Three victims struck by the speeding vehicle were two adult females, ages 47 and 20, and a 4-year-old boy, who is reportedly a child of the 20-year-old, according to a release by the Turlock Police Department.
A 2-year-old girl, also a child of the 20-year-old, was also walking with the victims, but was not hit or injured. She has since been released into the custody of family members.
Authorities have not released the identities of the victims.
The three victims were struck when a BMW 3 Series was traveling at a high rate of speed westbound on Rockwood Avenue and the driver veered left off the roadway when the victims were hit.
The vehicle continued through a residential front yard, striking an electrical box and stop sign before colliding into a residence on the corner of Boxwood Way and Rockwood Avenue.
Both occupants of the vehicle fled from the vehicle — one fleeing down Boxwood Way and the other down Rockwood Avenue and eventually hiding in a residence on Linwood Avenue.
Some witnesses were able to detain the occupant who fled down Boxwood Way until officers arrived.
The residents of the home the suspect fled into were uncooperative and the Turlock Police Department served a warrant to the home at approximately 1:42 a.m. Three suspects were detained inside the home, including the second occupant of the vehicle.
At this time, the Turlock Police Department has not released the names of the suspects and it is unknown if any charges have been made.
Alcohol appears to be a factor in the incident, according to the Turlock Police Department.
The incident is under active investigation.
If you were a witness to the collision or have any information about the incident, you’re asked to contact Sgt. Neil Cervenka at 209-668-5550 ext. 6681.
We need to know who these people are. The system doesn’t ever protect us from these scum. Release their names and photos so we can protect ourselves from the trash that low income apartments and the gospel mission is inviting here!
The passenger should also be charged with something. The passenger may have stopped the drunk driver and didn’t. The passenger could have avoided the speeding. Guilty conscious is not enough.
