CSU Stanislaus Invites Community to StanFest

California State University, Stanislaus Student Union and Associated Students, Inc. are inviting the local community to StanFest, which will be held this weekend at the University campus.

The festivities will begin at 8 a.m. on Saturday with the first annual Run4U. The “color run” style event will kick off in the area around the Warrior Arena, with a few hundred people expected to participate. Participants can register the day of the event.

The StanFest Welcome Back concert will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. in the University Amphitheater. Multiple Electronic Dance Music DJs will perform at the annual event that attracts more than 3,000 students and community members. The concert is free for students, who can pick up their ticket by 5 p.m. on Friday in Warrior Activities Center with a valid Warrior ID Card. Tickets will be available at the door for $20.

For families looking for some free fun, the StanFest Carnival will be held on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Children between 2 and 12 years old are encouraged to participate in an assortment of fun games and activities including plinko, bean bag toss, palm tree bounce, bowling, a bubble station, toddler town, ring toss, duck pond, fish bowl, arts and crafts and tie dye. Children can play games and earn tickets to win prizes.

Food and drink concessions will be available.

Visitors to the carnival are advised to bring cash, sunscreen or a cap and a t-shirt if they wish to participate in tie dye.
