The Turlock Police Department is looking for a suspect who allegedly attempted to rob a citizen at gunpoint on the night of Sept. 21.

Around 10 p.m., a victim was standing outside of her home on the 2500 block of Crowell Road when she was approached by a male subject.

The suspect allegedly pulled the victim’s hair and held a gun to the back of her head, said Turlock police spokesperson Officer Mayra Lewis.

She was ordered to go into her home to retrieve her purse for the suspect, but instead reached for protection.

According to Lewis, the victim acted as though she was unlocking a safe with her purse in it, but opened a gun safe and pulled a handgun on the suspect.

The suspect immediately fled out of the front door, said Lewis.

Officers searched the area, but were unable to locate anyone matching the description of the suspect.

Police are looking for a suspect described as a black male in his 20s with tattoos on his right arm. He was seen wearing a white t-shirt and shorts at the time of the incident.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Turlock Police Department at 209-668-1200.

As the Bay area is bought out by the rich, hipster, tech nerds, the poor are moving here and bringing with them their poor attitudes, poor education, and poor lifestyles that glorify violence and not being productive. More criminals are coming into the valley because they know cops are a small force out here. the jails have no room due to all the mexican gangsters so you will get out after a few weeks.

why are Turlock and Modesto police supporting criminals by taking away citizens ability to carry a gun visibly? Sounds like Turlock and Modesto police are anti citizen and pro criminal – it’s called job security.

Everyone in turlock should arm themselves. if you think its bad now, wait for the next stock market crash and when they stop giving out EBT-izzle.

A suspect tried to rob a “suspect,” or did you mean a “subject?” How about victim, or citizen. May be innocent bystander? Turlock resident? What was the resident of the home suspected to doing?

Pay attention, libtards, because this is the real solution to crime. Not your dumb idea of disarming everyone, which will never happen anyway. I don’t believe in God, but thank God we still have our guns!
