The Russell family, long-time active members of the Turlock community, are asking the community for positive thoughts and prayers for their mother and grandmother Beverly Pritchard Espindula, 57, who is currently in intensive care at a Sacramento hospital.

According to Beverly’s daughter, Aimee Rochelle Reed, Beverly was horseback riding with her 10-year-old granddaughter yesterday when the horse suddenly bucked her off and she fell to the ground, breaking her back in several places and causing other serious injuries.

When the accident occurred, Beverly’s granddaughter, Mckinley, called Aimee who subsequently called an ambulance.

Yesterday afternoon Beverley was transported to a Kaiser Hospital in the Sacramento area and placed into the hospital’s trauma unit.

Beverly is the current Business Manager at Turlock Salvation Army and she is the mother of former Turlock High Ag Department Chair Chad Russell, Aimee, and Tommy Russell.

“My mom is the most caring and loving person you will ever meet,” said Aimee. "She is always putting others before herself. She’s the best mom and grandma anyone could ask for. Our family is very close and the outpour of prayers and love we’ve received so far is amazing."

Stay tuned to TurlockCityNews.com for more updates on Beverly and hospital room announcements to send cards and flowers.

So sad to hear about Bev Pritchard Espindula. We will all pray and hold good thoughts for her speedy recovery. She is a wonderful person and it is hard to hear that she’s in pain.
