Gas prices at several locations in Turlock have finally dropped below $3, according to GasBuddy.

The cheapest gas in Turlock, according to GasBuddy, is currently $2.91 at Costco regular unleaded gas. Safeway has the next cheapest at $2.97 — although this price is for cash or debit only.

Several gas stations, including the ARCOs at 2015 W. Main St., 1801 Lander Ave., 2219 Lander Ave., and 210 N. Golden State Blvd., have also dropped to $2.99, according to GasBuddy.

The national average is down to $3.02, which is down 32 cents over the last month, according to GasBuddy. The drop is largely due to crude oil prices taking a major drop — approximately $12 per barrel over the last month, according to GasBuddy.

It’s an election year. Taxes are collected on the sale of gas. There’s a measure on the ballot to increase road tax. Do I need to say more?

No please don’t because you have no idea what you are talking about. International demand is down and production is up. I’m not sure many people understand how capitalism works.

Gas prices are dropping across the country, but it’s a conspiracy to get us to pass the road tax? You certainly are special.
